Gift Card Information

Purchasing a Gift Card

The Gap GiftCard (“Card”) is issued by Gap (Canada) Inc., a Canada corporation, and may be redeemed for merchandise at any Gap brand, Old Navy, Banana Republic or Athleta location, including Outlet and Factory stores. The Card may also be redeemed for merchandise at gapcanada.ca, oldnavy.ca, and bananarepublic.ca.

Purchases will be deducted from this Card until the value reaches zero. This Card may not be used or redeemed with certain promotional offers and may not be applied as payment on any account. Additional value may be added at any Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic or Athleta location. Dollar values are in the currency of the country where card is originally issued. Redeemable for cash when the balance is less than $5 or as required by law. Restricted to use in Canada, USA and Puerto Rico.

To report a lost or stolen Card: Call toll free 1-800-Gap-Style.

Replacement cards will be issued only for the dollar value remaining on the card at the time you report it lost or stolen. No replacement cards will be issued without original receipt.

If you already have a Gift card, it's easy to add value in stores. Any additional value will be in the currency of the country where the gift card was originally issued.

Redeeming a Gift Card

Redeeming a gift card is easy. Just shop and check out as you normally would. During Checkout you can then enter your gift card number into the gift card entry fields on the Billing Page or the Order Review page. You will need to enter both the 16-digit gift card number and the 4-digit PIN on the back of your gift card. When you click the "Apply" button, you will get a confirmation message indicating that the gift card has been applied to your order.

You may apply a maximum of 5 gift cards per order. To enter more than one gift card, enter the first gift card number and 4-digit PIN and click the "Apply" button. You will see a confirmation message that your gift card has been applied. Then enter your second gift card number and 4-digit PIN and click apply. You will see a confirmation message that your second gift card has been applied.

To redeem an Athleta gift certificate, merchandise credit, or coupon received before July 2009, please call 1-877-3Athleta (1-877-328-4538).

Merchandise purchased with a gift card is subject to the return policy of the applicable brand. Click here to view our return policies.

Checking the Balance on a Gift Card

You can check the balance on a gift card on the Billing Page in "Checkout" or in "Your Account". In both places, you will see a link to "Check Balance." You can then enter the 16-digit gift card number and the 4-digit PIN on the back of your card and click "Check Balance". Then, we immediately provide you with the balance on the gift card. You can also check your gift card balance by calling 1-800-Gap-Style.

Gift Receipts

If you indicate that your order is a gift, we will automatically include a gift receipt that lists the items, but not their prices.
